The ISPA Conference provides multiple opportunities to experience high-level education from respected business professionals and spa industry leaders. This isn’t your typical spa event. It’s an inspiring experience developed for today’s spa professionals by spa professionals. Below are the announced winners of ISPA's various awards, which were presented at the 2022 ISPA Conference. Awards are given to individuals who display exceptional practices in their field, influencing the spa industry both directly and indirectly through a variety of practices.

Ella Kent

Ella Kent
ISPA Dedicated Contributor Award

Ella Kent began her career in the spa and wellness industry as a personal trainer at The Broadmoor Hotel, where she was eventually named spa director in 2002. Her passion for spa continued as she joined the team at Wynn Las Vegas, overseeing spa operations at both The Wynn and The Encore. In 2014, Kent became director of spa for The Spa at Sea Island, a Forbes Five-Star resort on the southeastern coast of Georgia. Kent currently serves The Spa at Sea Island as their director of rooms. Kent served two years as chair of the ISPA Board and held a seat on the board of directors for six years. Additionally, she continues to serve on various task forces including ISPA’s nominations committee, which interview ISPA board of director candidates each year.

The ISPA Dedicated Contributor Award is given to an active ISPA member who has contributed significantly to the growth of the association. The recipient will have demonstrated leadership and commitment to ISPA and has extensively assisted in the promotion of the association, as well as its mission and vision. Ella will be honored with the award from the Main Stage on Monday, May 2.

Award Recipient

Kerstin Florian’s gift and determination for blending nature and technology into innovative products and experiential treatments led her to start her own company in 1978. Her powerful blend of passion, innovation, natural wellness and the spa lifestyle is embodied in a portfolio of luxury skin and body care collections that deliver noticeable results via beautiful and memorable sensorial experiences, and has led her to be recognized as a spa industry pioneer and icon.

The ISPA Visionary Award is presented each year to someone in the spa industry who has made significant contributions to both the definition and positive movement of health and wellness over the lifetime of their career. Kerstin will be honored with the award from the Main Stage on Tuesday, May 3. 


Leon Logothetis
ISPA Alex Szekely
Humanitarian Award

Since leaving behind his career as a broker in London more than a decade ago, Leon Logothetis has traveled the globe, visiting more than 100 countries and documenting his experiences through his hit TV shows and bestselling books such as Live, Love, Explore: Discover the Way of the Traveler—A Roadmap to the Life You Were Meant to Live. Through these projects and his speaking engagements, Logothetis is inspiring the world with his message of kindness, compassion and hope. Logothetis is also the founder of Winston Entertainment, a travel-focused television production company that highlights the good in humanity through its content.

The Alex Szekely Humanitarian Award is named in honor of the late spa pioneer, Alex Szekely. It is designed to recognize an individual who acts as a respected contributor to over all well-being, encouraging the renewal of mind, body and spirit - all of which are characteristics embodied by ISPA members worldwide. Leon will be honored with the award from the Main Stage on Wednesday, May 5.
