Previously, Patrick was the Vice President Spa and Retail for Montage International. With Montage International, Patrick was responsible for the spa, fitness and retail brand visions and the company’s two hotel brands: Montage and Pendry.
Patrick serves as Chairman of the Board for the International Spa Association – the premier spa association with a presence in over 70 countries that fosters the development and professionalism of the global spa and wellness industries.
Patrick holds a Master of Fine Arts from Yale School of Drama in Acting and a Bachelor of Arts from Vanderbilt University in Creative/Nonfiction Writing, English Literature and Theatre. Patrick serves on the Advisory Council for Global Eye Entrepreneurs - a non-profit organization that serves to mentor and develop men of color who run their own companies. Ella Kent began her career in the spa and wellness industry as a personal trainer at The Broadmoor Hotel, where she was eventually named spa director in 2002. Her passion for spa continued as she joined the team at Wynn Las Vegas, overseeing spa operations at both The Wynn and The Encore. In 2014, Kent became director of spa for The Spa at Sea Island, a Forbes Five-Star resort on the southeastern coast of Georgia. Kent currently serves The Spa at Sea Island as their director of rooms. Kent served two years as chair of the ISPA Board and held a seat on the board of directors for six years. Additionally, she continues to serve on various task forces including ISPA’s nominations committee, which interview ISPA board of director candidates each year.
The ISPA Dedicated Contributor Award is given to an active ISPA member who has contributed significantly to the growth of the association. The recipient will have demonstrated leadership and commitment to ISPA and has extensively assisted in the promotion of the association, as well as its mission and vision. Ella will be honored with the award from the Main Stage on Monday, May 2.

Adam has been working directly in Hotel Revenue Management for over 20 years. He started his hospitality career in Operations with Canadian Pacific Hotels at the Skydome Hotel and then the Royal York, before switching to Revenue Management while the discipline was still in its infancy. Since then, he has gained extensive experience supporting Revenue Management Strategies as an on property Director with major hotel chains such as Hilton, Delta and IHG, and on the ownership side working with the Asset Management teams for Westmont Hospitality and InnVest REIT. Adam joined FRHI 10 years ago as Regional Director, Revenue Management for FRHI Americas and was promoted to Vice President, Revenue Management when the company was acquired by world-leading hospitality group Accor.
In his role, Adam oversees the Revenue Management strategy for over 100 hotels across 10 brands in 10 countries. He has led the creation of a proprietary Business Intelligence solution and recently built a comprehensive Distribution Support team. His purview extends beyond traditional Rooms Revenue Management to maximize ancillary revenue streams such as FB, Spa and Function Space RM.
Adam is an active advocate for the Revenue Management Discipline and has previously served on the HSMAI RM Advisory board (2017-2021) as well as the IDeaS Customer Advisory Board (2020-Present). He is a regular guest speaker as an RM expert at Humber College, George Brown College, Centennial College and Ryerson University.
In 2019 Adam was recognized with the prestigious award for Top 25 Extraordinary Minds in Hospitality Sales, Marketing and Revenue Optimization from HSMAI.

Colin was born in North Belfast and his childhood years were spent living in one of the major conflict zones during the period in Northern Ireland’s history known as “ The Troubles”.
Recognising that education provided a pathway from the violence he won the prestigious academic Thouron Scholarship to the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia. He was later awarded an MSc in Research Methods and Statistics at Jesus College, Oxford.
Widely recognised as one of the leading research specialists of his generation, Colin's first survey related publication was at the age of 24 and in the course of a 40 year career he has conducted more than 400 global surveys.
He served in New York as global research leader for a decade advising then PwC global Chairman Dennis Nally on the design and implementation of a wide range of Thought Leadership projects and being consulted on survey best practices.
Since 1999 he has been the leader of the PwC research team which is responsible for producing and analysing the key metrics relating to the US spa industry for ISPA. He is regular contributor at the ISPA annual conferences and is closely associated with what has become known as “The Big Five Statistics” encompassing vital information such as revenue and staffing levels.
In other research arenas he has since 2010 taken the lead role in producing key metrics for the United States Tour Operators Association and the International Coach Federation amongst others.
He is the longest serving member of the UK Census Advisory Group (CAG) having been first appointed in 1992. He was appointed specialist advisor to the Electoral Commission and co-authored a series of 11 reports on boosting and monitoring electoral participation.
Most recently he helped with the design of the 2021 Census in Northern Ireland and regularly commentates on how to encourage response rates in conflict divided societies. He has conducted pioneering studies on diversity equality inclusion and justice and other sensitive issues in Bosnia, South Africa, and many parts of Asia. His particular research focus is on boosting participation rates in survey research.
He is married to Anne and their greatest joy at the moment is helping to look after their new grandson Ben and improving Colin’s Spanish as their daughter in law is from Buenos Aires, Argentina.

During tenure with Four Seasons, she has enjoyed much success with the Spas she led, including Best Spa in Europe by Travel and Leisure and becoming Philadelphia's only Forbes Five-Star Spa.
Verena believes the spa experience should reflect that of the whole Hotel to create an enhanced experience for each guest. “It is so important to maintain the connection to the property, rather than isolate the spa experience.”

At Sensei Lāna'i, A Four Seasons Resort, Catherine Phillips is the Retreat Director, bringing more than 25 years of luxury and wellness experience to the property. Phillips has managed luxury operations for large-scale hotel groups including Marriott International and its Ritz-Carlton brand, as well as various independent hoteliers in California, England and the Caribbean. Phillips holds qualifications in hospitality management, holistic health, meditation, massage therapy, cosmetology and aesthetics, including luxury skincare training in Switzerland. Having grown up visiting family on Moloka’i, Phillips has a strong tie to the Hawaiian islands offering a unique perspective that is pertinent to leading the retreat on Lāna’i. In her free time, Phillips regularly volunteers for community outreach programs, wellness initiatives and animal welfare.

Since 1999 he has been the leader of the PwC research team which is responsible for producing and analysing the key metrics relating to the US spa industry for ISPA. He is regular contributor at the ISPA annual conferences and is closely associated with what has become known as “The Big Five Statistics” encompassing vital information such as revenue and staffing levels.
In other research arenas he has since 2010 taken the lead role in producing key metrics for the United States Tour Operators Association and the International Coach Federation amongst others.
He is the longest serving member of the UK Census Advisory Group (CAG) having been first appointed in 1992. He was appointed specialist advisor to the Electoral Commission and co-authored a series of 11 reports on boosting and monitoring electoral participation.
Most recently he helped with the design of the 2021 Census in Northern Ireland and regularly commentates on how to encourage response rates in conflict divided societies. He has conducted pioneering studies on diversity equality inclusion and justice and other sensitive issues in Bosnia, South Africa, and many parts of Asia. His particular research focus is on boosting participation rates in survey research.
He is married to Anne and their greatest joy at the moment is helping to look after their new grandson Ben and improving Colin’s Spanish as their daughter in law is from Buenos Aires, Argentina.

CG Funk is the Senior Vice President of Culture and Industry Relations for Massage Heights Franchising. CG is also a massage therapist and holds an Arizona license to practice and is California Certified.
CG is a 30 year veteran of the massage and spa industries and her work has helped to shape the United States massage therapy and skin care professions. Her roles have included executive leadership, school administration, corporate trainer, massage curricula and program developer, writer, instructor and massage business owner. An inspirational speaker and storyteller, CG is a sought after guest lecturer and presenter at industry trade shows and conferences.
Throughout her career, CG has been an advocate and supporter of massage therapists and holds a deep believe in the healing power of therapeutic massage and bodywork. Deirdre Strunk is the Vice President of Canyon Ranch Spa, Fitness, Beauty, and Retail for Canyon Ranch. Deirdre joined Canyon Ranch in April of 2015. In her role, Deirdre currently shares her talents and expertise by heading up the Canyon Ranch Spa, Fitness, Beauty, and Retail divisions across the Canyon Ranch Brand. Deirdre holds 20+ years of experience. Deirdre is a licensed massage therapist and aesthetician, and because she is so passionate about fitness, she is yoga and group fitness instructor trained. Deirdre currently serves on the Nevada State Board of Massage Therapy board as the Vice-Chair. She served as a Commissioner for the Commission on Massage Therapy Accreditation (COMTA) for two years. She assisted COMTA with upholding high standards for massage therapy education and is currently serving as a Board member of the Las Vegas spa association. In 2015 Deirdre was awarded Spa Director of the Year from the Las Vegas Spa Association.
Deirdre is eager to participate with charities of all sorts. Deirdre was a board member, then became Chairman of the board for the Southern Nevada’s Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) Southern Nevada Chapter from 2012 to 2018 and currently serves as Vice-Chair. For her efforts with LLS, Deirdre received the Las Vegas Spa Association’s 2012 Humanitarian of the Year. In 2014 Deirdre was awarded Woman of The Year for LLS for raising record-breaking funds in ten weeks breaking Nevada’s record for this event, and in 2018 was awarded All-Star Woman of the Year for Southern Nevada LLS, both earning her two research grants for Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia. -

Patrick has worked for such iconic brands as Four Seasons, Equinox and Sandals Resorts. Patrick is currently the Executive Director of The ‘Quin House where he is responsible for the club’s Marketing, Membership, Programming and ‘Quin’s charitable arm The ‘Quin Impact Fund. Previously, Patrick was the Vice President Spa and Retail for Montage International. With Montage International, Patrick was responsible for the spa, fitness and retail brand visions and the company’s two hotel brands: Montage and Pendry.
Patrick serves as Chairman of the Board for the International Spa Association – the premier spa association with a presence in over 70 countries that fosters the development and professionalism of the global spa and wellness industries.
